Perilla, NYC

Overall: Not bad, but not Tops.
Cost: $54
What Top Chef fan doesn't love Harold? Unfortunately, while dinner at Perilla does promise the possibility of a real-life glimpse (tall, serious, and adorable), the culinary experience was not nearly as exciting. Duck meatballs were a little dry and not comparable to A Voce's; langoustines were good but the best dish was actually the side of corn, light yet creamy and flavorful. The space is warm, comfortable and instantly forgettable. It would be a lovely neighborhood spot if only prices weren't aspiring to something trendier.
