Taschen's Book Gallery

Taschen, the avant-garde publisher of art and design books, has opened a gallery-store in SoHo on the heels of its buzzed-about space in LA. Designed by Philippe Starck with his signature exuberance, it features colorful murals on the walls by Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes. But the highlight is still Taschen's gorgeously printed books on art, architecture, design, film, pop culture and more – a coffee table's dream. I'm not sure my book budget accommodates many of these lavish volumes, but uplifting and inspirational browsing is free!
