Summer of Love!

At the Whitney's exhibit featuring art and design from the '60s and early '70s, it's entertaining but not surprising to see saturated colors, groovy prints and depictions of iconic musicians like The Rolling Stones and Marianne Faithful. What is intriguing is to see photographs and collages that seem so modern, yet so entirely different from contemporary pieces because of the lack of a digital touch. The works shown are certainly not "artisanal", but there is a quaint feeling of authentic-ness that will no doubt appeal to many people. Get ready for a comeback of bellbottom jeans and psychedelic colors...
Summer of Love, through 9/16/07 at the Whitney Museum.
