Oh heaven... at Monday Room, I can reserve a table, get cheese and dessert with my drinks, and have civilized conversations (before the alcohol takes over)! Nestled inside Nolita restaurant Public, this tiny, intimate wine bar provides couples and small groups a sophisticated spot to hang out. I appreciated that the lighting is not so dim that it might lull you to sleep after a few glasses. A particularly nice touch is that the wines are all available by the half-glass, glass, half-bottle or bottle; wine flights are also offered. Definitely book ahead (no spending requirements for tables) as there is no standing allowed.
